A picturesque self-catering holiday cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage lies at the base of the Black Mountains in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This location is ideal for walking and associated peaceful pursuits.
The cottage is situated just below the Beacons Way, a renowned footpath stretching deep into the national park. There are walks from the door step to Tretower, Bwlch, Cwmdu and Crickhowell.
The cottage is a traditional white washed stone building with fine oak beams. The old fireplace would originally have been the smithy furnace.
There are lovely ceramic floor tiles throughout the downstairs except in the lounge which is carpeted. The cottage has a very efficient central heating system to ensure it is always warm and cosy. Rental is Friday to Friday. Short breaks may be arranged depending on availability.
There is a newly fitted, very well equipped open plan kitchen. This comprises all the usual modern facilities including an electric Range Master cooker, microwave, dishwasher, electric fridge and a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Lovely fitted units with ample storage space.
There is a dining area/family room through an archway off the kitchen with a feature fireplace and a very efficient wood burning stove, dining table, 6 chairs and fabulous views out across the valley to the hills beyond.
The downstairs sitting room has a feature fireplace fitted with a coal-effect electric fire, TV with Freeview and DVD. WiFi available.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and hand wash basin.
Reached by a traditional fairly steep and carpeted stone staircase to three bedrooms.
Master Bedroom 1:
A very spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed with an en-suite shower-room and toilet and small hand basin. Beautiful views over the countryside to the south and west.
Bedroom with a double bed with ample storage space for clothes
Twin bedded room next to the family bathroom.
The family bathroom comprises a bath with a separate shower unit, heated towel rail, toilet and wash basin with shaver point.
A pretty garden fronts the cottage with a garden bench – a perfect place to sit on a sunny evening. There is also a small elevated garden to the rear with a patio, garden furniture and a BBQ (see gallery).
